Johan Rohde is known for his innovative and unique style. While his patterns are elegant and classic, they are a unique version of Art Nouveau and still fit in well with today's world. Johan Rohde became one of the first people to work with Georg Jensen after Rohde had Jensen commission some pieces for his personal collection in 1906. Georg Jensen was impressed so much by his style that he invited him to design a collection. In his favorable Acorn pattern, you can see Rohde used decoration to emphasize form as well as hammer marks and oxidisation.
Seven piece place settings for 12 - Georg Jensen sterling. Each piece is in good overall estate condition - some faint wear consistent with age and light use - the spoons appear to be the most used - Marked: Georg Jensen & Wendel A/S Sterling Denmark - this mark in use from 1945-1951 - other marks c.1950.
