Important because most of the engravings are by the famed artist Seth Eastman -- illustrating activities of the American Indian in the region.
Only the first 100 copies include these important and historical engraved plates by Eastman, and are not found in later editions of this book. These engravings (mounted proofs on Indian paper) are masterpieces-- depicting different events in American Indian life at this time.

The cover is in very good condition -- minor bumping to corners and some wear to cover.
