- The introduction of a new ATRAC3plus codec with new Hi-LP and Hi-SP bitrates.
- The ability to save non-audio data such as documents, videos and pictures (FAT32).
Recording time:
- Linear PCM 1.4mbps mode - up to 1 hour 34 min.
- ATRAC3plus 256kbps Hi-SP mode - up to 7 hours 55 min (standard mode).
- ATRAC3plus 64kbps Hi-LP mode - up to 34 hours.
