    Description

This is my lovely Antique Emerald Green Czech Glass Seltzer Bottle.
    Circa 1918 - 1938 ~
Czechoslovakia was renowned for their superior glass.
    The bottle is acid etched:
    Four Hundred Club
    Peacock Ale Company
    The Symbol of Better Taste
A peacock in a shield with 400 across his tailfeathers.
(I believe this was out of Chicago, IL)
    The bottom is acid etched:
    ... Made...
    in
    Czecho-Slovakia
    The chrome top is marked:
    PROMPT BEVERAGES 5
It is 11" high to the top of the lid
    3.5" across the bottom
    Weighs 3.25 lbs.
It still contains the original glass straw!
There is still water in the very bottom because the cap is stuck and I've never attempted to remove it.
It's in very nice condition showing normal wear associated with age and use.
    Czechoslovakia
The nation of Czechoslovakia did not exist until the end of World War I.
The country was formed in 1918 from Slovakia, Bohemia and Moravia.
From 1918 to 1938, many pieces of glass were marked "Czechoslovakia."
This mark is used by collectors to date Czech glass made between the world wars.
