DESCRIPTION:This auction is for a (1) working 1970 FRONT
(Sedan) PASSENGER SIDE DOOR Actuator-RIGHT side FRONT DOOR
. This is fully a non-repairable item when yours goes bad...you have to throw away the old one and replace it with another. Pretty simple to do, actually. If your lock doesn't go up and down, then likely the actuator has seized.
IMPORTANT NOTE #1:
These electric solenoid actuators were first being introduced in 1969-70. Pontiac, Chevy and Oldsmobile do not list this part for 1969 (still used vacuum powered locks) but they do for 1970. Buick and Cadillac listed electric actuators for 1969 WITH DIFFERENT PART #'s. The door casings for 1969-70 GM sedans likely did not change, so for some reason the 1970 actuators had different part #'s.
I DO NOT KNOW if the 1970 version will fit into a 1969.
Could be a wiring connector difference. If you have a 1969, check to be sure visually that the 1970 version will work.
IMPORTANT NOTE #2:
The Master Parts books for Chevy/Buick/Olds and Pontiac all list this Actuator as being used in
"ALL MODELS"
. So maybe mid sized sedans used this as well, even though I have not listed them in my compatibility chart.
CONDITION:
The auction actuator is exceptionally clean and in very decent shape. The rubber top is unique in that it's NOT rotted away. Instead it's complete, and is very pliable for being 50 years old (likely made in mid-1969 for the 1970 model year). Overall clean body with no rust worth mentioning. Bar that extends to the latch is also included. A
ctuator has been bench tested and has strong pull/push action. Don't snooze and lose on this clean & working actuator....
I only have one of these~
!
ORIGINAL YEAR OF USE:
1970 (part #8791127). 1969 is part #8763907.
ALTERNATE YEARS OF USE:
Possibly 1969 interchange, but investigate that fully~!
I'd recommend that you grease up your window rails and lubricate the lock mechanism at the same time that you replace this actuator.
