Einar Sverrre Pedersen A Royal Air Force veteran and Chief Navigator for Scandinavian
Airlines. He Crossed the north pole over 400 times. The Norwegian pilot invented instrumentation
required to make flights close to the magnetic north pole. Teaming up with Bernt Blechen and Admiral Riiser-Larsen, Pedersen flew commercial  planes across the pole.
In 1963 Pedersen's wife Ingrid, became
the first woman to fly a single- engine plane to the North pole.
