This item includes a 1909 edition of The Art Work of Central Indiana - In 9 Parts published by the Gravure Illustration Company. There is a hardcover case which had a ribbon closure at one time - this cover shows much wear - please see the first photo. Inside are nine separate softcover books with between 11 to 14 single sided pages - with one or two prints per page and the last page having text on it. Tissue in between the pages. The edges of the pages have slight darkening and some have small flaws, mainly at the corners - not on the images, mostly on the matte - no major flaws like tears, no deep creases, no pen/pencil markings.
Several pictorials from Indianapolis, Shelbyville, Marion, Columbus, Greensburg, Wabash. At least one page of Purdue University, Brown County, Franklin, Crawfordsville, Lafayette, Vernon. There may be other locations as these were found through a quick run through.
The pages measure 13-1/2" x 11-1/2". A really nice pictorial history of towns in Central Indiana - residences, landmark buildings, river scenes or other nature landscapes important to this area. I wanted to get as many of the images in the listing pictures as possible, in so doing, some matte and a small amount of the edges of the views are cropped in the listing pictures.
Very fortunate that this is a complete set and that most of the wear is to the outside cover and less wear along the very edges of the matting. The gravure photos themselves are in good condition.
