    REORT OF THE PASSAIC VALLEY SEWERGE COMMISSION Sewage Disposal for the Valley of the Passaic River, Prevention of Pollution Thereof. Newark; John E. Rowe, February, 1897. First Edition. 97 pages, foldouts. Besides commerce, the Passaic River has been known for 2 things over the years: flooding & pollution. This book is the first major attempt to tackle the pollution. The Text  covers engineers, bacteriological & other reports, w/ a proposed law. Illustrated with 2 huge foldout color maps-- a 28" X 40" New Jersey & an approximate 20" X 27" drainage map of the Passaic River Valley. Also a long foldout analysis of Passaic River water in 1897. The maps are in excellent condition-rarely seen in these books, to keep them that way we've limited the scans. The cover show a purple blotch upper left edge of cover, lacking rear cover, else bound tight & completely clean, interior Near Fine; sold as-is.
